Greetings from Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary! May 2023 be a year filled with blessings for all of us in this beautiful area.

While Eseltjiesrus is first and foremost a Sanctuary for donkeys in need, providing them with a permanent home, we are also a popular destination for visitors. Here they can experience the magic of meeting happy donkeys, in the presence of our trained Guides. Each donkey has its own story and most of them love attention. They often identify visitors with emotional needs and it is not unusual for a donkey to cuddle up to a visitor who is shedding tears at experiencing unconditional love and understanding. Donkeys are wonderful, intuitive animals.

The Sanctuary is open to visitors from Thursdays to Sundays between 10am and 4pm and our Coffee Shop, Donkey Shop and book sales operate during those same times. There are shady spots to relax and enjoy the abundant bird-life. Dogs on leads are welcome and we are child-friendly and wheel-chair- friendly. Admission is by donation. We request prior notice of groups numbering more than 5 people.

We warmly invite you and your staff to visit us. We would love to show you what we offer so that you can inform your visitors of this unique opportunity on your doorstep.

In addition, we would like to place our brochures in your establishment. Please contact me at info@donkeysanctuary.co.za or on 023 625 1593 to arrange this, or if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Kind regards

Annemarie

This News Years Eve the tradition continues for The Candlelit Well & Spiral personal ceremony. Each year visitors to McGregor and guests are invited to take time out in our peaceful gardens to quietly reflect on the passing year and to personally prepare for the arrival of new beginnings. The gardens will be open from 20h00 to 22h00. Access will be through the front door of Temenos Manor House. You are most welcome to enjoy a drink sitting under the Ash Trees during this open time.
On the 1st of January Out of Africa will be serving its brunch menu to residents and guests from the village. We will be open from 9am to 11am serving your favorite morning dishes and coffee.
Wishing all our friends a peaceful and restorative festive season.
