Dear McGregor Friends and Family
You are warmly invited to inspect and admire the incredible effort that McGregor gardeners are engaging in to keep our picturesque village beautiful. 23 gardeners have agreed to be part of this year’s Show Off Competition, and have been working since early in the year improving and refining their gardens.
This is the third year that the Show Off Competition will be taking place. Fifteen Established Gardens and eleven Emerging Gardens will be showcased over the McGregor Celebrating the Arts Festival. Most of the mini gardens are in White City.
On the 25th and 26th of September the public are invited to admire the road frontage of these gardens between 10am and 4pm. Maps showing the location of the Show Off Competitors are available at the Tourism office.
The actual judging of the competition for the Established and Emerging Gardens and the Ann Bedford Floating Trophy will take place in October. The gardeners are proud of their participation and we welcome your interest and encouragement.
McGregor Show Off Organising Committee:

What is needed to live a life of fulfilment and purpose, even if a chronic health condition has taken away most of what gave fulfilment and purpose before? What lies on the other side of your losses and your suffering?
This supportive little guide takes you from despair and confusion, along several landscapes and reflections, into a place of insight, acceptance and hope.
If for yourself or for someone you know, please drop me a line at heartandsoul.arjan@protonmail.com
and you’ll be sent this little treasure, at no cost, as well as its beautifully illustrated version of selected extracts.

Feel the sunshine pull you up and out, like the plants and animals. Watch the buds rush into leaf, often doubling their size in a day. Feel the life within you, like that in nature, thrust up out of darkness into new possibilities. In Spring when nature reinvents itself, we too can see relationships and situations with new eyes. The energy of Spring brings new vision, new creativity, new hope.
Self-Compassion - makes it possible for us to be with ourselves just as we are - in all our messiness. Fierce, fearless compassion - with courage, curiosity and trust in basic goodness helps us to see possibilities we might not have otherwise imagined or ever thought possible and invites us to take action.
Creative Guiding centres on the creative process and journey of making art rather than the finished product. Karen Nebe gently nudges and guides art-making in a supportive environment. She draws on inspiration from nature and its elements, stories, poetry and other stimuli.
The Emphasis is on the experience of creating, developing and reflecting. There is a deepening of self-awareness in which one's thinking does not override the process of spontaneity and creativity. It’s about an inward exploration, being in the present moment, letting go of expectations and being curious about whatever emerges.
No art experience is required.
Join Karen Nebe for a long weekend of creativity, gentle movement, meditation and self-compassion. Pause, breathe, reflect and connect.
