Led by a knowledgeable whisky expert, our Whisky Masterclasses offer a unique opportunity to learn about the intricacies of the revered “Water of Life”, including:
Whisky, its origins, and its significance in various cultures.
The whisky-making process, such as the selection and preparation of grains, malting, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation, and bottling.
Insights into the art of whisky appreciation, discussing the factors that influence a whisky’s quality, uniqueness, and value. They may delve into the significance of cask types, age statements, distillery characteristics, and the impact of terroir on whisky production.
The art of whisky tasting, including the proper way to hold a glass, observe the colour and clarity, and assess the whisky’s aroma and flavours. The expert explains the significance of nosing and how to identify various scents, such as fruity, floral, spicy, smoky, or oaky notes.
Different whisky styles, including single malt, blended malt, single grain, blended whisky, and cask strength variations
A highlight of the masterclass is the guided tasting session, during which participants sample a selection of whiskies.
