A massive congratulations to Team Steel Challenge and Team JAG Leopard Riders who rode the ABSA Cape Epic under a joint Cape Leopard Trust banner this year! After 7 days of hard racing, both teams made it to the finish at Val de Vie yesterday, and all 4 men are now proud owners of a coveted Cape Epic 2021 finishers medal.
Team Steel Challenge has achieved the unthinkable and fulfilled their dream of becoming the first team ever to tame the Epic on two π§πΆπππΊ π³πͺπ¨πͺπ₯, π΄πͺπ―π¨ππ¦-π΄π±π¦π¦π₯ π΄π΅π¦π¦π π£πͺπ¬π¦π΄!!
Hats off and utmost respect to Max and Fykz (Team Steel Challenge in support of CLT, McGregor Young Warriors & Angels Mountain Biking Academy/Club and Breede Centre) as well as Greg and Graham (Team JAG Leopard Riders in support of JAG Foundation and the CLT) β we hope you now enjoy some rest!

Weβd like to send Team Steel Challenge the very best of luck and a whole lotta grit β for what they are attempting to achieve is nothing short of extraordinary! Max βWaxheadβ Menzies and Fernell βFykzβ Regue hope to become the first team ever to tame the Epic on two fully rigid, single-speed steel bikes.
Max and Fykz are riding under the banners of both the Cape Leopard Trust and McGregor Young Warriors & Angels Mountain Biking Academy/Club (part of Breede Centre).
